In January of this year the TU Delft Space Institute was founded. The official opening will take place at the 19th of May during an opening symposium at the Science Centre.
Speakers at the opening symposium include Heino Falcke (Professor, Radboud University Nijmegen), Arnoud de Jong (CEO Airbus Defence and Space Netherlands) and Franco Ongaro (Head TEC/ESA). A market place will be organized during lunch where the faculties involved will present themselves. The day will end with a panel discussion and drinks.
The mission of the TU Delft Space Institute is to bundle and create expertise on Space in order to create local, regional and global impact on research, education and valorization. The institute will focus on three focal themes: Sensing from Space, Space Robotics and Distributed Space Systems with research ranging from larger systems in space to extreme miniaturization.
