Delft Aerospace Rocket Engineering (DARE) is a Dreamteam of the TU Delft, and one of the world’s largest and most advanced student rocketry societies. DARE offers students the opportunity to get hands-on experience in all aspects of rocketry, from building complete rockets like our Stratos and Aether projects, to R&D projects, like Cryogenic Propulsion and Recovery Systems.

With over fifteen years of experience, DARE is able to execute the complex operations and logistics required for the launch of large sounding rockets, ensuring safe and reliable functioning of all subsystems. Next to our regular small launch days in the Netherlands, we have set up launch campaigns in Spain, Sweden, Denmark and South Africa.

DARE is ambitiously pursuing the aim of becoming the first European student team to reach space, defined at an altitude of 100 kilometres. We already reached 21.5 kilometres with Stratos II+ in 2015, and are aiming for space with Stratos IV in the summer of 2019.

The society consists of more than 150 Bachelor and Master students from the Delft University of Technology, working together in multidisciplinary R&D projects or on flagship vehicles like Stratos and Aether.
